Where would LGBTQ rights be without the Lesbians? In my opinion nowhere. I might be crucified for this but Gay guys are more interested in getting their dicks sucked than in human rights. All over it is clear that the lesbians are leading the way. Is it because dikes are traditionally stronger than faggots or is it because women are just more responsible beings. I don’t really know why but I am almost sure that gay guys on their own will not be able to take the fight any further without our female friends.
I am sure that a paragraph like the above will get me bitch-slapped, but this has irritated me more and more in the last couple of months. If you want to organize a march the guys would be there because they will see it as a way of meeting new meat, but if you organize a meeting on human rights the lesbians would be 70-80% of the attendants. Sure enough the guys can shout and moan and bitch if their own personal rights are being threatened, but call them a month later for a protest and hear all the excuses. This isn’t something that only happens in England or South Africa where I have been part of the struggle; it is a worldwide experience.
I would have loved it if a few gay guys would take me on for making these statements, but they are normally so self-absorbed that they wouldn’t care enough to object. Is it a gay thing or a guy thing? It might be a guy thing because men have always been accused of worrying more about their dicks than their family; more about their dicks than love and more about their dicks than survival. Sure enough they normally turned up for the wars between clans, regions and countries but that was never for principles; it was mostly because they enjoyed a good fight.
Last week on Queerlife I went through the main articles and I noticed the amount of likes on all the different articles. Serous articles, good articles and interesting articles normally get anything between 5 and 40 likes; the photo’s of the different contestants for Mr. Gay World 2012 drew more than a 100 likes. I’m not a square, my like was among them, but is it really all we are interested in? Especially as a South African I am worried; it is really my opinion that South Africa is closer to an about-turn on gay rights than many people think. Africa is the continent where Gay-rights is almost non-existent, while South Africa is one of the countries where gay rights are really taken seriously, but boys, I am not sure whether your paradise is going to last. Look through Coenie Kukkuk’s articles of the past few months and tell me you are not worried.
Nobody is going to take to the streets for gay rights if you don’t take them serious. Its time to wake up; you do not want to see what a country without gay-rights looks like – I promise you that, I’ve been to a few.
